4378 new Covid cases, 6 deaths in 24 hrs
The Bangladesh government recorded 4,378 new COVID-19 cases and six deaths in the last 24 hours.
With this, the total infections stood at 16,09,042 and fatalities rose to 28,129, a health directorate press release said on Friday.
As many as 30,366 samples were collected, and 29,817 tested in the past day.
During the period, 351 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total number of recoveries to 15,52,306.
Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020.
The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
To date, the epidemic infected 321,174,092 people and killed 5,540,979 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 264,330,787 across the world.
