Verdict in ex-major Sinha murder case on Jan 31

The verdict in the murder case of former major of Bangladesh army Sinha Md Rashed Khan will be delivered on January 31.

Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Ismaeel fixed the date on Wednesday on completion of arguments by the prosecution and the defence.

Public Prosecutor of the court Advocate Faridul Alam confirmed the matter to Jago News.

Earlier on June 27 last year, the court framed charges against 15 people including former officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das in the case.

On December 13 in 2020, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) submitted the charge sheet against them.

On July 31 in 2020, Sinha was killed in police firing at Baharchhara police check-post on Marine Drive road in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar.

On August 5, his sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed a case with Teknaf Police Station in this connection.

The case was later handed over to the RAB for investigation.
