3 of a family burnt dead in Uttara

Three members of a family were burnt to death in a fire that broke out at a tin-shed house of one Suruj Miah at Chandalbuk area in the capital’s Uttara early Tuesday.

The deceased are Md Jahangir, 19, Ruma Akter, 17 and Afrin, 14.

Khaleda Akter, Duty Officer of Uttara Fire Service and Civil Defense, confirmed the matter to Jago News.   

“Being informed at 4:20am, three units of the fire service rushed to the spot and doused the fire at 5:40am. It is suspected the fire incident might be occurred due to electric short-circuit,” she said. 

The fire service official also said three dead bodies were recovered from the spot and handed over to Sub Inspector Waziur Rahman.
