Three students killed as truck rams motorcycle

Three students were killed as a truck hit a motorcycle in Birganj upazila of Dinajpur district on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Shahriar Shuva, 15, son of Zahangir Alam, Shahadat Hossain, 15, son of Afsar Ali, and Mozahid, 14, son of Shukur Ali, residents of Sujalpur Sluice Gate area in the upazila. 

Shahriar and Shahdat got admitted in Class IX while Mozahid in Class VIII at Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam High School in the upazila today.

Birganj Police Station inspector (investigation) Sohel Rana told Jago News that three students were returning home on a motorcycle after taking admission at Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam High School.

A goods-laden truck rammed into the motorcyle in Makrai Komorpur area around 2 pm, leaving two dead on the spot and another injured.

The injured was rushed to Birganj Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, the inspector added.
