Hasan Foez Siddique takes oath as chief justice

Hasan Foez Siddique has taken oath as the country's 23rd chief justice.

President M Abdul Hamid administered the oath at Bangabhaban around 4 pm on Friday.

Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam conducted the oath-taking ceremony.

He replaced 22nd Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain who will go to retirement on September 25, 2023. 

President M Abdul Hamid appointed Hasan Foez Siddique as new chief justice according to Article No. 95(1) of the Constitution, a Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry circular said on Thursday.
