495 new Covid cases, 1 death in 24 hrs
The Bangladesh government recorded 495 new COVID-19 cases and one death in the last 24 hours.
With this, the total infections stood at 15,84,518 and fatalities rose to 28,063, a health directorate press release said on Wednesday.
Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020.
The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
To date, the epidemic infected 283,317,708 people and killed 5,433,724 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 251,996,220 across the world.
