Another Cox's Bazar gang-rape accused held
Police have arrested another accused in the case over the gang-rape of a tourist in Cox's Bazar.
Israfil Huda Joy, the third No. accused in the case, was arrested from Chakaria Bus Terminal in the district on Tuesday.
With this, a total of six accused in the lawsuit were held, said the district tourist police's additional DIG Md Muslim.
Earlier on Sunday, the Rapid Action Battalion members apprehended the prime accused, Ashiqul Islam Ashiq, from Madaripur.
Held rest four accused are Karim Shahabuddin, 25, Mamunur Rashid, 28, and Mehedi Hasan, 21, and Riaz Uddin.
The victim's husband lodged the case with Cox's Bazar Model Police Station on December 30.
The victim alleged that she was first gang-raped in a hut adjacent to Kabita Chattar Road in the district town on December 22.
Later, she was taken to a hotel called Zia Guest Inn and violated again.
The woman, however, went to Cox's Bazar on a trip with her husband and child in the morning of the day.
