Give financial assistance to launch fire victims: HC

The High Court (HC) has directed the concerned deputy commissioners to give financial assistance to the people who were injured in the launch fire in Sugandha river that claimed 42 lives. 

A HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order after hearing the two writ petitions on Tuesday.

The HC also directed to make a list of the deceased and injured people in the fire incident. 

Advocate Md Younus Ali Akand, who filed the two writ petitions, confirmed the matter to Jago News.

A massive fire broke out at Barguna-bound MV Abhijan-10 in the Sugandha river in Deuri area under Ponabalia union early Friday.

A total of 42 people, so far, died, and many remain missing in the incident. And many others are being treated at hospitals with burn injuries.
