Voting in 4th phase UP election held

The voting in the fourth phase of union parishad polls was held on Sunday.

The voting began at 8am and ended at 4pm.

In this phase, the voting for the post of chairman was held in 790 Ups as chairmen of 48 UPs have already been elected uncontested. A number of 3,814 aspirants competed for the chairman post of 790 UPs.

112 members of the reserved women’s ward and 135 members of the general ward have also been elected uncontested.

Besides, 9,513 candidates contested for the reserved women ward member posts and 30,106 candidates for the general ward member posts.
