Case filed over Jhalakathi launch fire

An unnatural death case has been filed over the deaths after a launch caught fire in the Sugandha river in Jhalakathi district.

Zahangir Hossain, a village police member under Ponabalia union of Sadar upazila, lodged the case with Sadar Police Station on Saturday afternoon.

The police station officer in-charge Khalilur Rahman confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

Earlier, a massive fire broke out at Barguna-bound MV Abhijan-10 in the Sugandha river in Deuri area under Ponabalia union early Friday.

Some 41 people, so far, died, and more than 100 remain missing in the incident. However, 81 others received burn injuries.
