Man killed after being hit by DSCC garage vehicle

A man was killed after being hit by a garbage carrying vehicle of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) in front of the Super Market in Wari Thana of Old Dhaka on Thursday morning.

The deceased Swapan Kumar Sarker, 62, lived at Gendaria in the capital. 

In this connection, Uzzal Hossen, Sub Inspector of Wari Police Station, said being informed they rushed to the spot and found him lying on the street in a pool of blood.

“His body will be sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital for autopsy after completing legal process. The body has been kept at the police station,” the police officer said. 

Quoting local people, he also said, the man was killed on the spot after being hit by the vehicle around 7am.

They are trying to seize the killer vehicle and detain its driver, he added.  

Earlier on November 24, Notre Dame College student Nayeem Hasan was also killed by the DSCC garbage vehicle. On November 25, a man named Kabir Khan was killed by the DNCC garbage vehicle.
