Dr Murad sued in Lakshmipur

A case has been filed against Dr Md Murad Hassan, who has recently resigned as the state minister for information and broadcasting, in Lakshmipur.

Lakshmipur district lawyers' forum general secretary Ahmed Ferdous Manik filed the case in a court there on Tuesday afternoon.

In the lawsuit, the plaintiff accused Murad of delivering an indecent speech about BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's grandaughter Zaima Rahman.

Presenter Muhammad Mohiuddin Helal Nahid alias Nahid, who took an interview of Dr Murad where he gave the speech, was also made accused in the case.

The court sources said the judge took cognizance of the case but will give the order in this regard later.
