DSA case filed against Murad in Rajshahi
A case has been filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA) against former State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Md Murad Hassan.
A K M Saiful Islam, Advocate and Joint Convener of Bagura district unit of BNP, filed the case at the Cyber Tribunal in Rajshahi on Sunday morning.
Advocate Ismat Ara, Public Prosecutor of the court, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
He said the case was filed against Dr Murad and anchor Muhammad Mohiuddin Helal Nahid for derogatory remarks about BNP’s acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman’s daughter Barrister Zaima Rahman.
On December 7, after the direction of Prime Minister, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Murad Hassan resigned from his post.
He recently made derogatory remarks about BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, its acting chairperson Tarique Rahman and his daughter Zaima Rahman that went viral on social media.
Later, a conversation between Murad and film actress Mahiya Mahi leaked and went viral on social media that sparked waves of criticism.
