Man, daughter killed as truck rams rickshaw

A man and his daughter were killed as a brick-laden truck rammed into a rickshaw at Chashara in Narayanganj district town on Friday afternoon.

Deceased Altaf, 45, was a resident of Shamvupura area in Sonargaon upazila and his daughter Belly, 18.

Quoting locals, Fatulla Police Station sub-inspector Md Zahangir Alam told Jago News that a brick-laden truck hit a rickshaw in front of the district council's Dak Bunglow, leaving the latter vehicle's two passengers dead on the spot. 

They met their tragic end when they were going to a marriage ceremony at Sonargaon from Panchabati, he said.

However, the bodies were sent to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue, the SI said, adding that the truck was seized and its driver detained.
