A court in Gaibandha on Thursday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife in 2017.
Condemned convict Maidul Islam Mithu is a resident of Narayanpur village in Sadar upazila.
Gaibandha District and Sessions Judge Court judge Dilip Kumar Bhaumik handed down the verdict.
The court public prosecutor Faruk Islam Prince said Mithu strangulated his wife Khadiza Begum to death on February 5, 2017, over conjugal conflict.
Later, the victim's father Md Abdur Rezzak lodged a case with Gobindaganj Police Station in this connection.
