2 drug peddlers bullet-injured in gunfight with police

Two drug dealers were injured in a gunfight with police at Debhata in Sadar upazila of Satkhira district on Tuesday night.

The injured are Bishojeet Sarkar, 22, and Nuruzzzaman, 23, hailed from the upazila.

Information officer of district police sub-inspector Kamal Hossain said tipped off a team of police led by Sub-inspector Emdad conducted a drive at the area.

Sensing the presence of police drug dealer gang blasted few crude bombs forced the law enforcers to open fire.

At one stage of battle the duo catch in the line of fire and sustain bullet injury. Later, police rescued the duo and sent to Sadar General Hospital.

Police also recovered 400 pieces of Yaba and four bottles of Phensedyl from the area. A case was filed in this connection.
