Two 'drug dealers' killed in 'gunfight'

Two alleged drug dealers were killed in a reported gunfight with the members of Rapid Action Battalion in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar district early Friday.

The deceased were identified as Kefayet Ullah and Korban Ali alias Angul Kata Shafiq. They were accused in several cases of drug and arms, according to the RAB.

Cox's Bazar RAB-15 assistant director (media) ASP Nityanandan Das said on information that a group of robbers with drugs and arms positioned in Domdomia hill in the early hours, a team of the elite force conducted a drive there.

Sensing the presence of RAB, they opened fire on them, prompting the law enforcers to fire back, he said.

Later, two - Kefayet and Korban - were found dead on the spot, and 20,000 Yaba pills, two pistols, and bullets recovered from there, the official added.
