RMCH records two more fatalities in Covid-19 unit
Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) recorded two more fatalities in its Covid-19 unit during the last 24 hours till 6am today, reports BSS.
RMCH Director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani said one of the deceased was a resident of Naogaon, while another from Chapainawabganj district. They were suffering from symptoms of Covid-19.
Among the fresh deaths, one was male and another female.
The death toll due to Covid-19 and its symptoms reached 20 so far this month with the new fatalities. However, the previous day's fatality figure was one.
But, Thursday's death figure was zero after four consecutive days. The hospital recorded zero death on Sunday after another on October 31.
Earlier, the number of casualties was 100 in October, 167 in September, 340 in August, 566 in July and 405 in June in the Covid unit of RMCH, sources said.
Meanwhile, twelve more patients were admitted to the Covid-19 unit during the last 24 hours, taking the number of admitted patients to 50, including eight testing positive for Covid-19, at present.
One more person was found Covid-19 positive after testing 151 samples in Rajshahi's two laboratories on Friday, showing a 2.28 percent infection rate against 2.83 percent on Thursday.
