Two Bangladeshis shot dead by BSF along Lalmonirhat border

Two Bangladeshi nationals were shot dead by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Burirhat border in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat district early Friday. 

The deceased were identified as Md Bhashani, 40, a resident of Malgara village in Lohakuchi area, and Md Idris Ali, 42, of the same area in the upazila.

The incident took place around 5 am. The bodies lied inside Indian territory.

Goral Union Parishad chairman Mahamudul Islam said the BSF members opened fire on Bhashani and Idris when they crossed the border to bring cows, leaving them dead on the spot.

Border Guard Bangladesh and local sources said the members of BSF-75, Cooch Behar opened fire on a few shepherds early today when they went to Indian territory to bring cows, leaving two dead on the spot.
