3 killed in Narsingdi pre-election violence

Three people were killed in pre-election violence at Banshgari area in Raipura upazila of Narsigndi early Thursday. 

The tense situation was prevailing in the area.

The deceased were identified as Salauddin Miah, 45, son of Hikim Miah, Dulal Miah, 45, son of Siraj Miah and Jahangir, 27, son of Haque Miah.

Of them, Salauddin and Jahangir were the supporters of independent chairman candidate of Rashgari union parishad Ratul Hasan Jakir and Dulal was the supporter of current chairman and Awami League nominated chairman candidate Ashraful Haque.

However, a clash occurred at Karimganj Government Primary School under Amirganj union of the upazila over casting fake votes around 11am. Some people were injured in the incident. On information, police rushed to the spot and took the situation under control.
