Sholakia attack accused on 10-day remand

A court in Kishoreganj has placed Zahidul Haque alias Tanim, an accused in a case filed for Thursday’s terrorist attack near Sholakia Eidgah, on a 10-day remand.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Abdus Salam Khan passed the order after Morshed Jahan, officer-in-charge of Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station and also the investigation officer of the case, produced the suspected attacker Jahidul Haque Tanim before the court.  

The suspected attacker Tanim, son of one Abdus Sattar of Paschim Tarapasha in Kishoreganj Sadar upazila, was caught on the spot following over an hour-long gun battle between law enforcers and attackers.

Earlier, a case was filed against two people, including, Zahidul, in connection with the attack that left four people, including two policemen, dead.

On July 7, the Eid day, at least four people, including two policemen, were killed and 12 others injured in a bomb attack coupled with an exchange of gunfire after terrorists attacked at a temporary police check post near Sholakia Eidgah in Sadar upazila of Kishoreganj.
