RMCH records zero fatality in Covid-19 unit

Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) recorded zero fatality in its Covid-19 unit in the last 24 hours till 6am today after six consecutive days.

RMCH Director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani told journalists the hospital recorded zero deaths on October 31 last, reports BSS.

However, yesterday's fatality figure was four in the Covid-19 unit.

"With yesterday's fatality, the death toll reached 13 in the last six days of this month.

Earlier, the number of casualties was 100 in October, 167 in September, 340 in August, 566 in July and 405 in June, the sources added.

Brig Shamim Yazdany told the journalists that 13 more patients were admitted to the Covid-19 unit of the hospital in the last 24 hours, taking the number of admitted patients to 39, including seven testing positive for Covid-19.

Eight other patients returned home after being cured during the time.

Meanwhile, three more people were diagnosed with Covid-19 after testing 168 samples in Rajshahi's two laboratories on Saturday, showing a 1.79 percent positivity rate.
