3 killed in pre-election violence in Narsingdi

Three people were killed and thirty others injured in a clash between two groups centering the upcoming union parishad election at Nekzanpur village of Alokbali union in Narsingdi on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Amir Hosen, 45, Ashraful, 22 and Khushi Begum, 50. 

Police and locals said there had been a long dispute between the incumbent UP Chairman Delwar Hosen Deepu and Alokbali union Awami League General Secretary Asadullah. The supporters of both of them locked in a clash in today’s morning. Three people were killed and thirty others injured in the incident.

Tanveer Ahmmed, In-charge of police outpost of the town, said the bodies of three were kept at a hospital and some others are receiving treatments from there.
