4 killed in road accidents in Cumilla

Four people were killed in separate road accidents in Cumilla on Tuesday.

Three people were killed when a bus of Ekushey Paribahan hit a three-wheeler while overtaking it at Bipulasar area in Monohargonj upazila of the district around 9:15am.

The deceased were identified as Saima Muntaha, 22, Ruhul Amin, 65 and Sefali Akter, 55. They were the inhabitants of Shakchail village. 

In this connection, Maksud Ahmed, Officer-in-charge of Laksam Highway Police Station, said the bodies of three people were recovered from the spot and the killer bus was also seized.

However, a man was killed when a covered van hit a microbus of Chadni Paribahan on Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Paduar Bazar in Cumilla Sadar Dakshin upazila early today. 

The deceased was identified as Liton Islam, son of late Kabirul Islam of Dubachain village in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria.
