Case filed over Sholakia Eidgah attack

A case has been filed over the terrorist attack at Sholakia Eidgah on July 7, where four people, including two policemen, a woman and a suspected assailant were killed, just before the Eid prayer.

Mohammad Shamsuddin, Inspector (Investigation) of Pakundia Police Station filed the case against Md Shoriful Islam alias Shofiul Islam alias Saiful Islam, son of Abdul High, a resident of Dinajpur district and Zahidul Haque alias Tamim, 24, son of Abdus Sattar, hailing from Kishoreganj district, who were in police custody and others under the Anti Terrorist Act-2013 on Sunday.

Now, Shoriful Islam, who injured during the gunfight, staying in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital under RAB’s custody and Zahidul Haque is in Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station.

Earlier on July 7, in the Eid day members of banned Islamist militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) carried out the attack at Sholakia Eidgah on July 7, where thousands people gathered to perform their Eid prayer, where four people, including two policemen, Jharna Bhoumik a Abir the suspected assailant were killed and 15 others injured.
