Sirajganj couple found dead in bedroom

Police recovered the bodies of a couple from their bedroom in Belkuchi upazila of Sirajganj district on Friday morning. 

The deceased were Gouranga Ghosh, 25, son of Dwizgopal Ghosh, a resident of Kamarpara Ghoshpara in the upazila, and his wife Toma Rani Ghosh, 20.

Local said family members found Gouranga, a sweet trader by profession, and his wife dead on the floor of their bedroom this morning and informed the police. 

Belkuchi Police Station officer in-charge Golam Mostafa said police being informed went to the spot and retrieved the bodies.

The body of the man bore scratches, and his hand veins were found severed but no injury marks were found on his wife's body, he said.

Police primarily assume that the man first might have strangulated his wife to death and then he committed suicide, the OC said, adding that actual cause of the deaths would be known after receiving autopsy report.
