Mitu murder: Accused Bhola held from Jashore
Police have arrested Ehteshamul Haque Bhola, one of the accused in the murder case of Mahmuda Khanam Mitu, the wife of Chattogram's former Police Superintendent Babul Akter.
He was nabbed from Jashore early Saturday, Naima Sultana, the superintendent of Chattogram Metropolitan Unit of Police Bureau of Investigation, confirmed to Jago News today.
Earlier on October 14, the court of Chattogram Metropolitan Sessions Judge Sheikh Ashfaqur Rahman issued an arrest warrent against Bhola, 41, as he did not surrender before court after completion of four weeks' interim bail granted by the High Court.
On June 5, 2016, Mitu was shot and stabbed to death on the way to pick up her son from a school bus on OR Nizam Road in Chattogram city.
Later, SP Babul lodged a case against unidentified people with the Panchlaish Police Station in Chattogram in this connection.
Ehteshamul Haque Bhola, a resident of Bakalia area in the city, and his associate Monir were arrested in the lawsuit in the same year.
