Man gets life in prison in drug case

A court in Narail on Sunday convicted a man and sentenced him to life in prison in a case filed the Narcotics Control Act.

Lifer Md Azharul Islam is a resident of Digang Bishwas Para under Kalaroa Police Station in Satkhira upazila.

District and Sessions Judge Munshi Md Moshiar Rahman handed down the verdict when the lifer was present on the dock.

The case statement said police detained Azharul alongwith 80 bottles of Phensedyl syrup from Nirali Bahirgram Bazar area under Narail Sadar Police Station in Narail on November 8, 2013.

Later, a case was lodged with Narail Sadar Police Station in this connection under the Narcotics Control Act.
