Woman's hanging body recovered from hotel
Police recovered the hanging body of a woman from a residential hotel in Bagerhat district town on Saturday afternoon.
Deceased Nazma Begum was a resident of Tribeni Dakshinpara area in Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah district. She worked in a garment factory in Savar on the outskirts of Dhaka.
Bagerhat Model Police Station officer in-charge KM Azizul Islam said they recovered the body of a woman hanging from the ceiling fan in a room of 'Hotel Bilash' in Rahater Moor area.
The law enforcers detained a young man named Rabiul Islam from the hotel in this connection, he said, adding that the hote manager, Md Humayun, was also brought to police station for questioning.
The OC also said the body was sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital morgue to conduct autopsy.
The Humayun said Rubel and Nazma introducing themselves as husband and wife stayed in the hotel.
In interrogation, police said, Rubel, hails from Chatura village in Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah, told them that he developed an affair with husband-abandoned Nazma in 2015 and married her on May 2 of the same year.
In 2016, she left him and filed a case accusing him of torturing her. Since then, they both were not in touch with each other.
Later, Rubel married another woman but from last a year, they both have been contacting each other over phone and meeting physically.
