The Armed Police Battalion on Friday afternoon arrested a young man in connection with the murder of Rohingya leader Mohib Ullah in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar.

He was nabbed from Kutupalong 6 no. camp, and later, handed him over to Ukhiya Police Station, said APBN-14 Police Superintendent Naimul Haque.

Earlier on Thursday evening, Mohib Ullah's brother Habibullah filed a case against the unidentified people in this connection, said the police station officer in-charge Ahmed Sanzur Morshed.

A group of unidentified men shot Mohib Ullah to death at his office in Kutupalong refugee camp on Wednesday night.

He was the chairman of Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Human Rights.

He came into the limelight holding a rally at Rohingya camp on August 22, 2019.

Earlier in July of the same year, he was among 27 representatives of 17 countries' minority communities who met former US President Doland Trump and complained to him about persecution.
