Rohingya leader Mohib Ullah shot dead

Rohingya leader Mohib Ullah was shot dead by the unidentified men in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar district on Wednesday night.

Shihab Kaiser Khan, the police superintendent of Armed Police Battalion (8 APBN), confirmed the matter to Jago News.

Witnesses said a few unidentified men fired five rounds of bullets on him at his office in Kutupalong refugee camp around 8:30 pm, leaving him seriously injured.

He was rushed to MSF Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead. 

Mohib Ullah was the chairman of Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Peace and Human Rights.

He came into the limelight holding a rally at Rohingya camp on August 22, 2019.

Earlier in July of the same year, he was among 27 representatives of 17 countries' minority communities who met former US President Doland Trump and complained to him about persecution.
