Mufti Kazi Ibrahim put on 2-day remand

A court in Dhaka on Wednesday granted police to interrogate Islamic preacher Mufti Kazi Ibrahim in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufiana Noman passed the order after police had produced him before the court, seeking a 10-day remand.

An official of the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police filed the case with Mohammadpur Police Station this afternoon.

Another case was lodged against him by a man named ZM Rana on Tuesday night accusing him of committing fraud.

Earlier, a team of detectives detained the Islamic speaker from his residence on Zakir Hossain Road at Lalmatia in the capital early Monday.

The detention came after controversy grew over the speeches he gave in waz-mahfil, and different social media like Facebook and YouTube.
