Eid being celebrated in 3 dists
Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated in several places in Chandpur, Dinajpur and Munshiganj districts on Wednesday in line with the schedule of Saudi Arabia.
However, Eid will be celebrated in the country tomorrow. The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held at Islamic Foundation’s Baitul Mukarram office on Tuesday.
In Chandpur, residents of 40 villages in Sadar upazila celebrated Eid following the Muslims in Saudi Arabia.
The festival was also celebrated in some villages in Matlab North, Hajiganj, Faridganj, Shahrasti and Kochua upazilas of the district, reports UNB.
In Munshiganj, Eid is being celebrated in nine village of Sadar upazilas in the district. The villages are - Anandapur, Shiloi, Nayebkandi, Adhara, Mijikandi, Kalirchar, Banglabazar, Baghaikandi and Kongsapura.
A large number of devotees attended the Eid congregation at Shiloi Eidgagh.
In Dinajpur, Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated in six villages of five upazilas of the district.
The villages are - Paharpur village in Sadar upazila, Pakerhat village in Khansama upazila, Balandor village in Birol Upazila, Joynanda and Mukundapur villages in Kaharole upazila and Rubberdam village in Chiriribandar upazila.
Maulana Anis Mahmud Hizbullah conducted the Eid Jamaat held at Party Centre in Dinajpur district town.
