Militant hideout raided at Basila, top JMB leader detained

Rapid Action Battalion conducted a drive at a house suspecting it militant hideout at Basila in the capital’s Mohammadpur on Thursday morning. 

A top Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) leader named Emdadul Haque alias Ujjal Master was detained from the spot and was taken to RAB headquarters for interrogation. 

A pistol, some bullets, home-made bullet-proof jacket, some jihadi books and Tk 275,000 were recovered.

Commander Khandaker Al Moeen, Director (Legal and Media Wing of RAB headquarters, confirmed the matter at 9:30am. 

He said, they conducted the drive based on the information provided by the militants who were arrested at Khagdahar area in Mymensing on September 4. 

He also said, they have primarily interrogated the guard and the detained militant and they said that they rented the house on September 2.
