A Bangladeshi national has been shot dead by the robbers in North West province of South Africa.

Deceased Abdul Ahad, 30, was the son of Sajeeb Ali, a resident of Palpara village under Lakshmipasha union in Golapganj upazila of Sylhet district.

He was a Hafiz, a term used by Muslims for someone who has completely memorized the Quran.

A group of robbers shot Ahad on his way to Klerksdorp around 4am on Tuesday (local time) to buy stuff for his own shop in Wolmaransstad, leaving him dead on the spot, quoting one of his friends in South Africa, Lakshmipasha UP chairman Abdul Alim Tuhin told Jago News.
