Police officer Sohel to be brought back home: DMP boss

Banani Police Station Inspector and the so-called patron of e-commerce platform E-orange Sohel Rana, who was detained by BSF in India, will be brought back home.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam told Jago News around 12:30pm on Sunday.

He said, a case has been filed against him in India and it is not sure whether he will be brought back or not.

“It is possible to bring back him by giving a letter to BSF though the home ministry. If it doesn’t work, we will bring back him through foreign ministry,” said Shafiqul.

He also said, Gulshan division police are already starting investigation against him. Stern action will be taken after getting report.

Earlier on Saturday, an Indian daily reported that a Bangladeshi named Sohel Rana was detained by the BSF from Changrabandha border area in Cooch Behar district in India.
