One of the gunmen was a fan of actor Shraddha Kapoor
From posts on his Facebook and Twitter accounts, Nibras Islam - one of the six attackers who was shot at the end of the 11-hour hostage crisis at the Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka - appears to be a well-spoken and confident youth who hung out and joked with friends as most boys his age usually do.
In a video posted on his Facebook profile on June 8, 2015, Nibras is seen shaking hands with Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor.
‘Shraddha kapoor you beauty !! The moment when she holds my hand,’ he had captioned the video.
Nibras had completed his O-level from Scholastic School in 2013. He was also reportedly a student of North South University in Basundhara.
As reported in The Indian Express earlier, Nibras reportedly liked playing football and was very popular among fellow students.
‘Friends say he was quiet and not very religious. However, he broke off contact with friends in Bangladesh after moving to Malaysia to study at Monash University. He then turned religious. After coming back to the country sometime at the beginning of the year, he disappeared on February 3, and was last seen in a neighbourhood in Uttara. There were posts on his Facebook wall where friends asked him where he is,’ a local news website reported.
Nibras’s Twitter account, which has 460 followers, has been inactive since December 1, 2014. His last tweet was: ‘Alhamdulillah. Happiness is being with your loved ones. And being with friends you missed.’
Among the nine accounts he followed were ShamiWitness, operated from Bangalore by Mehdi Masroor Biswas, who was arrested on December 13, 2014.
He also followed controversial preacher Anjem Choudary’s account.
