Metro rail’s performance test held

The performance test of Bangladesh’s first overhead metro train was held at the depot in the capital’s Uttara on Sunday.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader inaugurated the test at 11:45am.
“We will inaugurate three mega projects in the next year,” The minister said.
He also said Padma Bridge will open to traffic in June 2022 while Bangabandhu tunnel in the Karnaphuli River and MRT Line-6 later in the next year.
N M Siddik, Managing Director of MRT, representatives of Japan Embassy to Bangladesh, JICA Bangladesh office chief and high officials of different agencies were present during this time.
