7 killed as microbus falls into ditch

Seven people were killed as a microbus fell into a roadside ditch after hitting an electric pole at Vendibazar area in Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday morning. 

Six of them were identified as Hajera Begum, 55, Ratan Biswas, 50, his wife Modhumita, 45, Purnima Rudro, 30, her son Sarthak Rudir, 3, Rani Rudro, 60.

Quoting local people, Mosharraf Hossen, Sub Inspector of Chakaria Police Station said, the microbus driver lost his control over the steering and fell into the roadside ditch in the area at 10:15am. 

On information, a team of police rushed to the spot and recovered a dead body from the microbus and sent six other people to the local hospital where all of them were declared dead.
