Ron, Dipu acquitted of attempted murder charges

A court in Dhaka has acquitted Sikder Group's Managing Director Ron Haque Sikder and his brother Dipu Haque Sikder in a case filed for allegedly attempting to kill EXIM Bank's two officials.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury on Thursday passed the acquittal order.

Earlier on July 26, investigation officer and police's detective branch deputy inspector Md Ripon Uddin filed a petition in the court, seeking acquittal of the accused.

On May 19 last year, EXIM Bank's two officials, including its managing director, lodged the case with Gulshan Police Station accusing Ron Haque Sikder and his brother Dipu Haque Sikder of attempting to kill them.
