BFIU seeks Pori Moni, Helena Jahangir's bank statements

Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) on Wednesday sought the bank statements of eight people, including Dhallywood actress Pori Moni and businesswoman Helena Jahangir.

The rest six people whose account details have been sought are film director Nazrul Islam Raj; models Faria Mahbub Piasha and Moriom Akter Mou; Rozina Akter from Banaripara in Barishal; Mishu Hasan and Saleh Chowdhury alias Carlos of Mohammadpur in the capital, a source in BFIU told Jago News.

Earlier on August 4, the Rapid Action Battalion conducted a drive at Pori Moni's Banani home in the capital based on some specific allegations the elite force said and detained her.

Hours after her detention, the RAB personnel conducted another drive at Raj's Banani home and nabbed him.

Later, they both were sued under the Narcotics Control Act.

Their detention came four days after the law enforcers raided models Piasha and Mou's houses at Baridhara and Mohammadpur and held them.

Later, cases were filed against the duo under the Narcotics Control Act.

On July 29, RAB detained Helena Jahangir, who has recently been removed from a subcommittee of Awami League, from her Gulshan residence and later sued her under the Digital Security Act.
