Police headquarters to probe 'affair' of Saklain, Pori Moni
The Police Headquarters has formed a three-member committee to investigate the reported affair of ADC Golam Saklain Shithil, who was removed from his post in the DMP's Detective Branch, with Dhallywood actress Pori Moni.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter to Jago News on Sunday night.
Later, Md Sohel Rana, AIG at the Police Headquarters, also confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Headed by Police Headquarters additional DIG (training) Mia Masud Karim, the two other members are DMP's women support and investigation center deputy commissioner Hamida Parveen, and police's criminal investigation division (CID) special superintendent of police (forensic) Rumana Akter.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Saklain was first restrained from all activities of DB and later, transferred him to the Public Order Management (POM) West on Saturday,
The decision came two days after several media outlets had reported that the actress spent almost 18 hours at his official residence on August 1.
Saklain was, however, given the investigation charge of the case Pori Moni filed against businessman Nasir U Mahmood in mid-June accusing him of taking a rape and murder attempt on her at a club in Dhaka.
On Wednesday, a team of the Intelligence Unit of RAB raided the actress's home at Banani in the capital and detained her.
The law enforcers said they also recovered a huge amount of narcotics during the drive.
At that time, RAB's Legal and Media Wing Director Khandaker Al Moin said they conducted the raid based on some specific allegations against her.
