Abducted madrasa girl rescued; man arrested
Police rescued a madrasa girl from Narail's Lohagara upazila on Saturday evening, 10 days after she had been abducted from Faridpur's Alfadanga upazila.
Besides, the law enforcers arrested a man named Zia Fakir, 40, a resident of Rupapat village in Boalmari upazila, over the abduction.
However, the arrestee was sent to jail on Sunday afternoon following a court order.
Earlier on July 19, the victim's mother lodged a case with Alfadanga Police Station mentioning that her daughter had been kidnapped.
The case statement said Zia, a hawker by profession, would often come to the victim's home to sell goods, and at one stage, he gave a love proposal to her.
After learning the matter, her family members asked him not to come to their home.
As a sequel to, he picked her up in a microbus on July 15 when she was going to the Helencha Bazar to buy medicine and abducted, according to the statement.
Alfadanga Police Station officer in-charge Md Wahiduzzaman said the accused has been sent to Faridpur Jail following a court order.
