Simon Dring, 'true friend' of Bangladesh, dies
British journalist Simon Dring, a 'true friend' of Bangladesh, has passed away at a hospital in Romania. He was 76.
He breathed his last on Friday, journalist Manzurul Ahsan Bulbul, who worked with him once upon a time, confirmed the matter on Tuesday.
Besides, renowned journalist and writer Tushar Abdullah also confirmed the matter of his death.
Simon Dring covered the atrocities of Pakistani forces during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
Later, the Bangladesh government gave him honorary citizenship.
