Two cousins die as motorcycle hits tree

Two cousins were killed in a road mishap in Gaurnadi upazila of Barishal district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Kamrul Hasan, 24, son of Abdur Rahman, a resident of Piprakhali area, and Md Hossain Bhuiyan, 23, son of Motin Bhuiyan of Jhatibunia area in Mirzaganj upazila of Patuakhali district.

Gaurnadi Highway Police Station traffic sergeant Md Mahbub Uzzal said the motorcycle Kamrul and Hossain were riding hit hard a roadside tree in Baiskhola area around 9am as they lost control over it, leaving the duo injured.

They were rushed to a hospital where the on-duty doctors declared them dead, he added.

The traffic sergeant also said Kamrul and Hossain met their tragic end when they were returning home from Dhaka to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with near and dear ones.
