6 killed as 2 buses collide in Rangpur

At least six people were killed and fifty others injured in a head-on collision in Rangpur on Sunday morning.

The incident took place on Dhaka-Rangpur highway at Boldipukur bus stand area in Mithapukur upazila of the district around 7:15am.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

AKM Samsuzzoha, Director of Deputy Assistant Director of Rangpur fire service, confirmed the incident to Jago News.

He said, a Rangpur-bound bus of Selfi Paribahan collided head-on with a Dhaka bound bus of Zoana Paribahan in the area, leaving six people died on the spot and fifty others injured.

Hearing the news, members of fire service and police rushed to the spot and sent the injured people to local hospital, he added.
