Five 'gamblers' sent to jail in Bogura

A court in Bogura on Sunday afternoon sent five people to the district jail in a case filed for allegedly gambling.

They are Sultan Mahmud, 28, Abdus Sabur, 30, residents of Borobila village; Badol Hossain, 25, of Belkuchi village; Rayhan Sheikh, and Rezaul Karim, 38, of Jorkhali village in Dhunat upazila.

Earlier around 4am, police arrested them alongwith around Tk 5100 and two sets of cards from Borobila village following a villager called 999 and complained about a gambling den there. 

Confirming the matter, Dhunat Police Station officer in-charge Kripa Sindhu Bala said a case was lodged in this connection where they were shown arrested.
