Sinha murder: Charges framed against ex-OC Pradeep, 14 others

A court in Cox’s Bazar has framed charges against 15 people including former officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das in a case filed over the murder of former major of Bangladesh army Sinha Md Rashed Khan.  

Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge’s Court Judge Mohammad Ismaeel passed the order on Sunday.  

The court also rejected the bail petitions of ex-OC Pradeep, Sub Inspector Dulal Rakshit and Constable Sagar Deb. 

Earlier in the morning, police produced the fifteen accused before the court.

Public Prosecutor of the court advocate Faridul Alam confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

On July 31 last year, Maj (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan was shot dead in police firing at a check-post in Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf upazila.

Later, on August 5, Sinha’s elder sister filed a murder case accusing OC Pradeep, SI Nandadul and seven others with Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate Court in connection with the murder.
