Kutumbari seeks $800,000 compensation from Zuckerberg

Kutumbari, a Bangladeshi restaurant, has served a legal notice on Facebook's Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg, seeking US dollar 800,000 in compensation.

Supreme Court lawyer Kazi Joynal Abedin on behalf of the business entity's managing director Gazi Khaled Ibne Mohammad sent the notice on December 7 last year, the lawyer confirmed this to Jago News on Wednesday.

The notice said Facebook allowed several other fake Facebook pages to be opened in the name of Kutumbari that damaged its business and dignity. That is why it demanded compensation from the social media platform.

Advocate Joynal Abedin said on behalf of Facebook, Barrister Tazkia Labiba Karim replied to the notice on January 28, 2021, saying that the social networking site does not approve such any post which violates the intellectual property rights of an enterprise. But this reply could not satisfy Kutumbari, he added.
