1 killed in election violence in Bhola

A youth was killed in an election violence between the supporters of Union Parishad (UP) member candidates at Charfesson upazila in Bhola on Monday. 

The incident took place in front of the Charfakira Primary School Polling Centre of 5 no ward under Hazariganj union of the upazila around 11:30am.    

The deceased was identified as Md Monir, 25, son of Bashirullah of the same union. He was the supporter of UP member candidate Yasin. 

According to the local people, the supporters of UP member candidates Yasin and Yousuf Shikder locked into a clash with each other outside the UP polling centre. A chase and counter held between them. At one stage, Monir was killed and another injured. 

In this connection Sarker Mohammad Kaiser, Bhola Superintendent of Police, said one people was killed and another injured over occupying the polling centre. The situation is now under control.
